YONDER

We are pleased to have collaborated with one of Liverpool’s most exciting and fast-rising independent café brands—YONDER—on the design and delivery of their newest location in the heart of the Baltic Triangle, a district synonymous with creativity, culture, and urban regeneration.
The brief was to create a contemporary, inviting space that could seamlessly serve as both a social hub and a retreat. Our approach to the hospitality interior design of YONDER focused on crafting an atmosphere that balances calm with vibrancy, aligning closely with the brand’s ethos of quality, community, and aesthetic simplicity.
The interior concept is rooted in a soft and natural material palette, chosen to create a tranquil, grounding environment that encourages guests to slow down and stay a little longer. We used natural timber finishes, linen-textured upholstery, brushed brass accents, and muted pastel tones to evoke warmth and comfort. Carefully selected ambient lighting, layered with concealed LED details and artisan feature pendants, enhances the mood throughout the day—from quiet mornings to lively evening gatherings.
Spatially, the café is designed with flexibility in mind. Zoning strategies define areas for solo work, group gatherings, and casual lounging. Bespoke joinery elements—including integrated banquette seating and display shelving—enhance both the aesthetic and functional qualities of the interior. Durable finishes and commercial-grade materials ensure the space remains robust and welcoming under high foot traffic, without compromising on visual softness.
Acoustic comfort was also a key design consideration. Sound-absorbing wall panels, cushioned furniture, and ceiling baffles contribute to a peaceful environment—ideal for remote work, casual conversation, or simply enjoying one of YONDER’s signature flat whites.
Biophilic elements are subtly integrated throughout the space, with lush planting positioned to soften architectural lines and strengthen the connection to nature. This enhances well-being and adds a dynamic, living layer to the café’s aesthetic identity.
The result is a contemporary café interior that offers more than just a place to eat and drink—it’s a multifunctional environment where people can connect, create, and recharge. From early morning freelancers to weekend brunchers, YONDER’s new home provides a thoughtfully curated backdrop for modern urban life.
