Using the power of Graphisoft’s Archicad and BIMx, Unit3 are now able to distribute digital models of our projects for clients and stakeholders to walk round, test and offer feedback.
Archicad is well known as the architects’ BIM software of choice which offers a complete end-to-end design and documentation workflow for architectural and integrated architectural and engineering practices of any size. BIMx is the most popular mobile and web BIM app that extends the BIM experience to include all stakeholders in the building design, delivery, and operations lifecycle. It features the ‘BIMx Hyper-model’, a unique technology for navigating the integrated 2D drawing sheets and 3D Building Information Models.
If this service has been agreed with you, Unit3 will either email the file to you or send you a link to download it.
Our BIM models are created with GRAPHISOFT BIMx and to use them you can either view them directly on a website browser, or you can download a version of BIMx viewer.
BIMx viewer software is available in two mobile versions in the Apple App Store and Google Play and in two versions for desktop – PC or Mac.

BIMx Mobile Viewer
On a mobile device there are various ways to move the file from your desktop machine to the iOS device. You can
- upload the file to a cloud storage solution
- move it directly to the iPad/iPhone with iTunes or AirDrop
- send it in an email or
- share it on a regular website/ftp link
BIMx Desktop Viewer
BIMx models created with Graphisoft Archicad can also be shared with anyone who has a desktop computer.
The Desktop Viewer works on both Windows and Mac and allows you to explore architectural designs interactively.
- Start your BIMx application
- Open the File menu and click on the Open command.
- Select the preferred BIMx project file to open it.
- Press the ESCAPE key on your keyboard to access the BIMx menus.
- Now you can start to edit the BIMx project if needed.
