Queer Places

QUEER PLACES

Exhibition

Queer Places was a powerful and thought-provoking exhibition curated by architect Luke Fawcett and hosted at Unit3 Design Studio. The exhibition explored the architectural and cultural significance of LGBTQ+ spaces across Liverpool—past, present, and future.

Bringing together archival research, personal narratives, and speculative design, Queer Places celebrated the role that queer venues, community hubs, and safe spaces have played in shaping the city’s identity. The show highlighted everything from iconic historical landmarks to grassroots initiatives and future-focused design concepts that reimagine inclusivity in the built environment.

By showcasing contributions from students, local artists, and designers, the exhibition provided a platform for diverse voices and encouraged public dialogue about space, identity, and representation. Queer Places was more than a showcase—it was a celebration of resilience, community, and the transformative power of design.
