BUNGALOW CONVERSION LIVERPOOL

This bungalow conversion project represents a thoughtful blend of heritage preservation and modern residential design. Unit3 have reimagined the rear elevation and roof structure of a traditional Victorian bungalow, transforming it into a light-filled, contemporary home tailored for modern family life and creative work.
The architectural intervention includes a dramatic new glazed gable end, creating a striking focal point at the rear of the house while allowing natural light to flood into the newly remodeled interior. This bold feature forms the heart of a new open-plan living area, seamlessly connecting the kitchen, dining, and lounge zones into a spacious, adaptable layout ideal for both entertaining and everyday living.
Upstairs, a carefully engineered loft conversion introduces a duplex-style interior layout, featuring a flexible studio or home office space within the newly created roof volume. This upper level makes full use of the vaulted ceilings and enjoys views through the gable-end glazing, creating a bright and inspiring workspace or guest suite.
The ground floor layout has been reconfigured to enhance flow and usability, with generous circulation and sightlines that enhance the feeling of openness. The remodelled home includes three spacious bedrooms, a fully updated main bathroom, and a series of elegant new en-suite bathrooms, all designed with comfort, practicality, and contemporary living standards in mind.
Throughout the renovation, original features of the Victorian bungalow have been retained and restored wherever possible. Traditional pocket sliding doors, feature fireplaces, and intricate timber detailing have been sensitively preserved to maintain a tangible connection to the home’s historic character. These period elements are complemented by the introduction of new contemporary finishes—including natural timber flooring, minimalist lighting, and bespoke cabinetry—offering a harmonious balance between old and new.
The project also includes energy-efficient upgrades, improved insulation, and updated building services to meet modern performance standards while ensuring the home remains comfortable and low-maintenance.
This conversion is a compelling example of how residential remodelling can respect the architectural heritage of a building while introducing bold new design elements and spatial innovation. It demonstrates Unit3’s commitment to delivering bespoke home renovations that are as beautiful as they are functional—enhancing value, lifestyle, and architectural integrity.
