LIVERPOOL HOMELESS FC

Unit3 were approached by Liverpool Homeless FC Charity in December 2017 to come up with a new design for a community football stadium on a derelict site just north of the city centre.
The proposal involved creating a stadium that incorporated visitor stands, food and retail outlets, changing facilities and offices. In order to meet the tight budget and need for speed of construction, an innovative approach to use old modified shipping containers was proposed and carried forwards an idea.
Liverpool Homeless Football Club was founded in 2007 and in early 2019 became a full time registered Homeless Charity. They provide the men and women of Merseyside free access to sports activities in a safe non-judgemental environment. Through harnessing the popularity of sport they create a trusting support network, which can give their members a framework to follow that can help them rebuild their lives. It can also allow them to fulfil their own potential.
