BALTIC FARM, LIVERPOOL
RIBA Stages 0-3
Unit3 were approached by Baltic Farm and Farm Urban to assist them in developing a mix use tenure for a plot of derilict land in the Baltic Triangle Liverpool (behind the well known Wedding House).
The strategic aim was to develop three areas within the site for various activities including a mixed use activities event space, retail / maker units and Farm Urban – an innovative plant based research and development company.
Aside from some general site clearance, the site benefits from being predominantly level and has good public facing elevations due to it being located on the corner of St James Street and Great George Place, but is a difficult ‘L’ shape, making circulation and connectivity between the various uses difficult. To overcome this, a series of axis were created through the site that provide clear circulation and visibility for visitors.
